Enjoy nature and walking

Judging by some media, the Franconian Forest is a true hiking forest. About half of the total surface area of 100,000 acres is woodland with thousands of kilometers hiking network. 3,500 km walking trail are well marked and maintained by the Franconian Association. The mill walk takes you past the hammer factory, eleven former mills, the romantic valleys Hoellental and the Rennsteig (ridge walk).
